Queen to Launch Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre

In a bid to combat cyberattacks, Queen Elizabeth II will on Tuesday officially launch Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre (“Centre” “NCSC”). The Centre is one of the initiatives which the government of United Kingdom in November established as part of the sum of £1.9 billion (approximately $2.38 billion, € 2.24 billion) to combat cyberattacks.

According to Finance Minister Phillip Hammond, “The cyberattacks we are seeing are increasing in their frequency, their severity, and their sophistication, “In the first three months of its existence the NCSC has already mobilised to respond to attacks on 188 occasions.”

Thus, the Centre is to ensure that Britain is fortified against cyberattacks.
